Ladies
Tennis Singapore (LTS) is a midweek doubles league which
caters to over 290 ladies of all levels of play.
LTS is sanctioned by the Singapore
Tennis Association (STA) and operates with their full
support.
The goal of LTS is to encourage participation
in league play and to promote sportsmanship and fun for all level
of players.
LTS runs two seasons throughout
the calendar year with a "Spring" season in February
to May and an "Autumn" season from September
to December.
There are four levels in
the league: Premier, Division 1, Division 2 and Division
3.
Players are invited to form teams of
six to eight players. There are presently 36 teams in the
league. Teams are placed in one of the four divisions according
to level of play.
Matches are played once
a week Monday, Thursday or Friday except on public holidays.
On match day, the two teams playing each
other field two doubles pairs. Each pair plays two sets
against both pairs from the opposing team.
Points are awarded for each set won with
a bonus point to the team winning the most sets. At the conclusion of each LTS season,
awards will be given to teams in all divisions for both
sportsmanship and highest point totals over the season. |
